Reflections on the Quran & Sunnah

(Indeed, Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds to gardens beneath which rivers flow. Indeed, Allah does what He intends.)

And on the opposite side: (And thus have We sent it down as verses of clear evidence and because Allah guides whom He intends)

He is the One who willed entry into Paradise (Indeed, Allah does what He intends)

And He is the One who willed guidance for the servant in this world (and because Allah guides whom He intends).

(And thus have We sent it down as verses of clear evidence) After receiving the Quran, they split into two groups: a group that was not guided, so the Quran became a proof against them, and He did not will their guidance (Those are the ones for whom Allah does not intend to purify their hearts)

And a group for whom He willed guidance (and because Allah guides whom He intends)

So whoever wants guidance, let him hold to the Quran

Guidance He hastened for the believer in this world, and Paradise He deferred for him to the Hereafter

So He is the One who willed guidance, and He is the One who willed entry into Paradise.

So you have no merit and no favor to boast of, neither in this nor in that!

"I love You with two loves: a love of longing,

And a love because You are worthy of that.

As for the love that is a love of longing,

It is my being absorbed in remembering You, away from all besides You.

And as for the love of which You are worthy,

It is Your lifting the veils for me until I see You.

So no praise is mine in this, nor in that,

But Yours is the praise in this and in that."

Reflections on the Quran & Sunnah

(And recite to them the news of him to whom We gave Our signs, but he detached himself from them)

(And recite to them the news of him to whom We gave Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators) A parable Allah struck for the one to whom He gave the Quran and clear proofs, yet he did not act upon it; and the cause of his swerving from guidance: following desire instead of the Book; and preferring this world over the Hereafter.
