Reflections on the Quran & Sunnah

(And Whatever Good You Do – Allah Knows It)

(And whatever good you do – Allah knows it): why did He leave out the word (or evil?)

"When I know good from you, I mention it and make it known, and when I know evil from you, I cover it and conceal it; so that you may know that if My mercy toward you in this world is like this, then how will it be in the Hereafter."?

"The second of them: among the exegetes is one who said in explaining His saying: ﴿Indeed, the Hour is coming – I almost conceal it﴾ [Ta-Ha: 15] its meaning is: if it were possible for Me to conceal it from Myself, I would do so.

So it is with this verse; it is as if the servant were told: whatever good you do, I know it; as for the evil you do, if it were possible for Me to conceal it from Myself, I would do that." - al-Razi

O Allah, forgive us what they do not know, and make us better than what they think. I seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty and repent to Him.

(And recite to them the news of him to whom We gave Our signs, but he detached himself from them)

(And recite to them the news of him to whom We gave Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators) A parable Allah struck for the one to whom He gave the Quran and clear proofs, yet he did not act upon it; and the cause of his swerving from guidance: following desire instead of the Book; and preferring this world over the Hereafter.
