Reflections on the Quran & Sunnah

Putting the Establishing of Prayer Before the Giving of Zakah

Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, put the establishing of prayer before the giving of zakah in the Quran for a purpose:

Namely, that prayer contains the Quran, and when one prays his soul is enriched by the Quran, so it becomes more able to enrich others through zakah and charity

And when Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani explained the hadith "he would study the Quran with him, and he was more generous than the wind sent forth"

He said in commentary: ( so he would study the Quran with him ) It was said that the wisdom in this is that studying the Quran renews his bond with greater richness of soul, and richness of soul is a cause of generosity."
